This is an information meeting for parents, teachers, youth about KidWind.org. Since fall 2018, Makersmiths members have coached youth who create wind turbine and solar challenge projects that they enter in the middle and high school divisions sponsored by KidWind.org.
What is Kidwind? It is a hands-on STEM initiative that engages youth in grades 4-12 in maker experiences as they learn about wind and solar energy. Participant teams design and build small-scale wind turbines and solar structures to compete at the state and national levels to measure power output and present their projects to expert judges from universities and energy industries. It is student-driven, maker-oriented, collaborative and fun!
Please plan to attend this information meeting to find out about our KidWind-Virginia solar challenge winning teams in 2023! See our Website that shows our initiatives and highlights our wind and solar teams from 2022-2023 school year: https://sites.google.com/su.edu/kidwind2023/home
Please register so we can keep track of those interested in learning about KidWind! We will meet in the main room at Makersmiths Leesburg.
