KWP-W104: KidWind Tinkering Fun Days

This is a three-afternoon exploratory workshop for youth (and interested parents) to learn what KidWind is all about. Any youth entering grades 3-12 is invited to learn about wind turbines (blades, gearboxes, and Nacelles) and how they create clean energy from wind. Experienced and non-experienced KidWind participants are invited to just "play" with the gearboxes, blades, and Makersmiths' wind tunnel. Laptop computers will also be available for participants to tinker with Tinkercad (a CAD program) to design and 3D print or laser-cut blades they may want to design and make. Participants may also want to design and create a gearbox to see how it may be used to improve wind turbine performance. In short, these three afternoons will introduce students to KidWind, an engineering process initiative that teaches youth and their families about renewable energy.

Participants are required to fill out a waiver form - https://waiver.fr/p-NVPOj or have a completed waiver form on file. No-shows will not receive a refund or a makeup class.  The class will meet in the Green Room of the upper building at Makersmiths Purcellville.
