This is a family-friendly event. For every adult that registers, a child may come as a helper. Please join us in making a holiday card from a template created by Dreaming Tree SVG that uses cutting machines. Pictured above is a fall card that can be used to thank a Thanksgiving host and a Christmas card that can display a family photo on the front cover instead of the holiday message. The class introduces students to the Cricut software and Cricut cutting machines. Makersmiths has a Cricut Maker 3 at MS-L and a Cricut Explore Air 2 at MS-P and both machines will be available for us to use in this class. So, this class is appropriate for beginners or even seasoned cutting machine users.
We will be meeting in the main room in the Makersmiths-Leesburg arts and crafts location.
In preparation for the class, please bring your own laptop. Please be sure you have Cricut Design Space software preloaded on your laptop.
In this workshop, we will provide a variety of cardstock and printed holiday paper and glue. We will explain how we will be using the card templates, how to upload SVG files and prepare your files in Cricut Design Space. After your file is ready to cut, you will learn the differences between cut and score lines, when to use the attach tool, and how to properly cut your project with a cutting machine. Once you have cut all your pieces for your card, we will assemble them to make your card.
In reference to the Christmas card image above, you can easily use a photo of you or your family that is 3.5" in diameter for the front cover.
