This class provides a basic overview of the CAD, CAM, and render tools in Fusion 360. The first section will cover the design process in Fusion 360 including sketching, projections, modify tools (boolean operations, fillets, etc.), create tools (extrude, revolve etc.), importing 3D models, converting to solids, using a sketch canvas, changing units, exporting 3D objects, and organic modeling. The second session will cover Fusion's Render engine, 2D CAM paths, 3D CAM paths, setups, tool selection/editing, tool path simulation, feeds and speeds, post-processing, and exporting gcode.
Both sessions will meet in the classroom at Makersmiths Leesburg.
Prerequisites: Come with a computer preloaded with Fusion 360 Maker Edition installed and bring a mouse that works with the computer.
Fusion 360 Maker Edition can be downloaded for free from the AutoDesk website - https://www.autodesk.com/ . Select "Free Trial," then "Hobbyist" version.
