Nearly all of the pictures that we see or use on a daily basis are raster images.  But there is another type of image called vector that's essential for get the most out of the laser, CNC and vinyl cutting tools available at Makersmiths.  This is a one evening class introductory class which covers the basics and essentials of drawing in Inkscape so that you can start drawing for those machines. In this class we will:

1. Explain the key differences between raster and vector as well as the uses for each

2. Introduce you to objects, paths, strokes, nodes and how to manipulate each to draw

3. Show you how to take an existing raster drawing, turn it into a vector and manipulate it for cutting

At the end of the class you'll use your skills to draw and cut a color vinyl sticker to take home with you.

Note: You will need to bring a laptop to this class, preferably with Inkscape pre-installed
