knute bidne - Maker

Knute Bidne

If you have worked with Knute than you know his favorite quote, “own it, make it happen”.  Knute is a local small businessman who has bootstrapped and built his whole life. His maker mentality has helped him think beyond the norm, research and understand, and then build from ground up. His core values of commitment, accountability, passion, persistence and innovation are the ingredients to his success and evident in everything he does.  Knute graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Eberly College of Business and Information Technology and lives in Leesburg with his wife and two children. Brandon Bullis

Brandon was one of those kids who tore apart every toy he ever received, figured out how it worked and then put it back together. He grew up to become an Electrical Engineer working with educational institutions and non-profit entities in the Telecommunications industry. Whether it’s making a working train for his Christmas display, working in his driveway under the hood of his car or creating an animated holiday light show on his house, Brandon’s desire to tinker with and make thing is evident. Brandon graduated from West Virginia University with a BSEE and from George Mason University with an MSIS. He lives in Leesburg with his wife and 3 children. His LinkedIn profile is here.

pat scannell - maker

Pat Scannell

Pat’s high school yearbook quote was “What if…?”. He as applied that approach to a number of entrepreneurial commercial and non-profits ventures he has founded or been involved in. He is an inveterate maker, who doesn’t let his ignorance stand in the way of jumping into any number obscure projects, such as hand-binding books, building furniture and archery bows, designing a custom dream car, thatching a treehouse, or setting up 100 year old crank telephones between the treehouse and his house. He is the only board member w/o  formal engineering degree. His LinkedIn profile is here.
